What is WSIB / Workplace Safety and Insurance Board ?

The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) benefit to access study at colleges in Ontario is a program that provides financial assistance to eligible individuals who have been injured at work and are looking to retrain for a new career or upgrade their skills.

The benefit covers the cost of tuition, books, supplies, and transportation expenses for up to two years of full-time or part-time study at an approved college in Ontario. The program is designed to help injured workers develop new skills that will allow them to return to the workforce and support themselves and their families.

To be eligible for the WSIB benefit to access study at colleges in Ontario, an individual must have a WSIB claim and have received or be entitled to receive a non-economic loss award. They must also have a plan for how the training will help them return to work.

The program is administered by the WSIB and applications are assessed on a case-by-case basis. More information about the program, including eligibility criteria and how to apply, can be found on the WSIB website.
